History is a constructed narrative, shaped by those in power. SUBJUGATION, INEQUALITY, REVOLUTION – According to the Book of Kara interrogates the patriarchal control of historical storytelling by presenting a visual record of women’s subjugation and resistance across time. It challenges the authority of historical texts—particularly those authored by men who have dominated societal narratives for centuries.

This work reclaims female histories, told from a purely female perspective. If men have edited history to suit their agenda, then why not me?
